Sperrinview’s Head Girl goes out with a BANG!!!
Sperrinview’s very own Head Girl has scooped not one, but TWO major awards this year from Young Enterprise, Northern Ireland. On Thursday 18th May, Nadia selected two guests to attend the prestigious ‘Black Tie’ Event in Belfast City Hall. Thankfully she ‘chose’ her Young Enterprise Centre Lead, Mr K. Reid and her Business Advisor, Karen Birnie (Marketing and Communications Manager, Dunbia). Nadia was invited to the Young Enterprise NI awards ceremony after previously winning the ‘Southern Area Team Young Entrepreneur Award’ at the Big Celebration Event, held in Titanic, Belfast. After enjoying a drinks reception with canapés and a beautiful meal, Nadia and her guests were entertained by Kaylee Rogers from Killard House School. Kaylee hit the headlines during Christmas 2016 after she was recorded singing ‘Hallelujah’ at their Christmas production. Following Kaylee’s performance, BBC Weatherman Barra Best compered the evening and presented the awards. For one last time, the crowd were upstanding and the applause went up as Nadia’s name was called out! This time she made her way to the stage to collect the ‘Team Programme Positive Impact Award’ for the Southern Area!
We are delighted with the success of Sperrinview’s Young Enterprise Team, Green Fingers. Everyone including Nadia has worked extra hard to make it Sperrinview’s most successful year to date. In total, Green Fingers have won four major awards this year!
A big thanks must once again go to Karen Birnie (Dunbia) and Stephen Cotton (Technology and Design HoD, Drumglass High School) for their help and support throughout the year.
Nadia will leave Sperrinview at the end of June with two pieces of glassware and many Happy Memories! We would like to take this opportunity to wish you every success in the future, Nadia.
