Sperrinview Special School, Dungannon

World Book Week 2025

30th Mar 2025
This month the boys and girls of Sperrinview have been busy enjoying a fantastic Literacy Week and World Book Day, filled with exciting activities to celebrate the joy of reading!

Monday started with some special mystery readers in from our PTA who visited our junior classes to share their favourite stories. The children also had the chance to explore a wonderful selection of books at the school’s book fair.

Tuesday was all about sensory fun! Our sensory play day gave the children an opportunity to explore different types of books through hands-on, interactive activities.

Wednesday brought a visit from Dungannon Library. The children enjoyed listening to the stories and learning all about what the library has to offer.

Thursday was an exciting day as we welcomed the talented illustrator, Paul Howard, who showed the children how he creates his amazing illustrations.   Friday was a highlight for everyone with pupils and staff dressing up as their favourite book characters for a special assembly, followed by a fun-filled World Book Day Disco!

It was a memorable week full of creativity, imagination and a shared love of books. Well done to all the boys and girls for making it such a success! πŸ“šπŸŽ‰
