Harry Potter
On Friday 23rd February Senior school pupils celebrated World Book Day. Starlight class, the Senior PMLD class invited their peers to join them for a magical Harry Potter experience. Pupils entered through Platform 9 3/4 and passed the Hogwarts Express to Hogwarts where pupils experienced the floating candles, met Hedwig, looked at Harry’s letters hanging from the fireplace and even saw some of the magic potions!
Pupils enjoyed dressing up as Harry and getting their photograph taken in the photo booth. In the ‘enchanted forest’ pupils rolled up their sleeves and if they were brave enough, explored the sensory trays full of worms, spaghetti and jelly.
The whole experience was finished off with a chocolate work shop. Pupils were able to make their own chocolate frogs and edible wands. A special Harry Potter cake was also made and was won by another Harry Potter enthusiast. Magical juice and special owl cupcakes were served to weary travellers before heading back to their own class.
It really was a ‘magical’ experience and one that everyone enjoyed.
