Census NI records autism figures for both children and adults
The Northern Ireland Statistics & Research Agency today released the third set of results from Census 2021. For the first time, the Census included a question to record autism figures in Northern Ireland for both children and adults, with 35,367 people stating they have an autism diagnosis. This recent addition to the census is one that Autism NI has campaigned for and with the passing of the Autism Act of 2011, has finally been introduced.
